Sophie woke up screaming the other night. I raced in to see what was the matter.
She told me she was scared of the shadows on her wall. I comforted her, while reading about fears in "What to Expect: Toddler Years," and then made up a special song.
"Sophie and Mommy we love moonshadows, moonshadows, moonshadows. We love to dance with the moonshadows, moonshadows, moonshadows."
It seemed to really soothe her, thank God because I was a wreck and thought she'd never go back to sleep. Of course, Mark was working past midnight and wasn't home. Stuff like that always seems to happen when you're on your own, doesn't it?
